Do you like taking your pet to the beach? Is it difficult to imagine a trip to the beach without playing fetch with your dog on the sand? Rent our pet friendly beach house located in beautiful Rockaway Beach, Oregon.
While we had always fantasized about owning a beach house, we only starting thinking seriously about it after we found it nearly impossible to find a pet friendly beach house.
In the early 1900s the town of Rockaway became a summer resort for Portland’s growing population, and the two communities were connected by train in 1912.
Although we can’t take the train out to the beach anymore, we can take advantage of the passenger rides along the coastal stretch of the rail.

Want some home cooking at your home away from home? We've equipped the
beach house with everything you need to cook your family's favorite meals. Like most coast vacation rentals, we have cooking supplies that are always available,
and then there are items that we cannot promise to be available, but that we try to
replenish the stock of when we visit the house.
We've filled our house with all of the amenties you need to have a full
and fun vacation. Whether you are looking to cook a big family meal or a
late-night movie or game, we've got everything covered.
We have a fully-equiped kitchen, plenty of beds for you and your guests,
and many different entertainment options.
We're two beach-loving, dog-owning dreamers who long fantasized about owning a place at the coast. In 2004, we purchased our dream house in Rockaway Beach, Oregon.
We currently live in Portland with our dogs Sheriff and Tully and our cat Chopper. Dana works as a Realtor with RE/Max Equity Group. Jason works as a web developer with Kavi Corporation.
The beach house is available for short-term, vacation rental year-round. The house sleeps up to 14 people.
Last weekend was a big weekend for improvements to the beach house.
Dana is on her way home with a Zenith surround sound theater system with built in dvd and vcr. I normally am not a fan of integrated systems, but this one has a great feature set and the reviews are very good.
The nice thing about having the receiver, vcr, and dvd player integrated is that it will mean a lot fewer remotes to worry about and less cabling. It will also be the first time that I've had a chance to test surround sound on a vhs tape.
Now all we need is a big popcorn maker. :-)
We purchased a big screen television this evening for the beach house. It is a Toshiba 43" television. Satellite television was installed last weekend so our entertainment center is shaping up nicely. Rockaway Beach Cinemas 1 theater will open soon. :-)
The only remaining items for the entertainment center are a receiver and speakers. We will also need to modify the bookshelf in the living room to allow the big screen television to fit in that space.
I can't wait to watch a football game on the big screen and then go play football on the beach.
